An AI trip planner that does its homework.
Ask a chatbot for three days in Kyoto and you get a confident list. Some of the places are closed that day. One of them closed for good. And nothing in it knows the temple is 40 minutes from the lunch spot. Waystop is just as easy to ask, and then it checks what you would have checked yourself: hours, closed days and how long the walk is.
Free to plan every trip. $1.50 of Chat credit to start, no card needed.
Where chatbot plans go wrong
The problem. You get a list of names. Some are wrong, and none come with opening hours. Instead: every stop comes from Google Maps, and its hours and the travel time from the last stop are checked before it goes on your day.
The problem. You ask for one change and the whole plan comes back different. Instead: Chat suggests and you decide. Each change arrives as its own card, hours and travel time included, and nothing moves until you tap Apply. Changed your mind? Undo.
The problem. Your itinerary is buried in a chat thread you’re scrolling through on a street corner. Instead: the plan lives on your phone and tells you when to leave and which line to take. Your tickets open without signal, and it keeps track of who paid for dinner.
Watch it work
A Lisbon afternoon gets a new stop, start to finish. The video then shows Phrases, Money, Packing and Documents.
How it stacks up against a chatbot
| On the day | A general chatbot | Waystop |
|---|---|---|
| Is the place real and still open? | Not reliably | Checked on Google Maps before it lands on your day |
| Hours and closed days | From memory, often stale | Checked for the day you’re there |
| Travel time between stops | Guessed | Routed, with the leave-by time on your lock screen |
| Changing one thing | The whole answer is rewritten | One card per change, Apply or Dismiss, Undo |
| Your bookings and tickets | In your email | Attached to the stop, open offline |
| Who paid for dinner | In a separate app or spreadsheet | “Sam paid for dinner” becomes who owes whom |
| Who is coming and what they eat | You repeat it every time | Remembered for each traveler, and you can edit it |

Questions
Is this just a chatbot with a travel skin?
No. Every place Chat suggests is looked up on Google Maps, and its hours and travel times are checked before it goes on your day. Changes come as cards you accept one at a time. The budget, documents and expenses live in the same trip.
Can I bring a plan I already made somewhere else?
Yes. Paste it into Import, or share screenshots and PDFs of your bookings, and Waystop turns it into a day-by-day timeline. Then ask Chat for whatever you want to change.
Does it book hotels or tours?
No. Where a place can be booked, a link takes you to the booking site. Waystop may earn a commission, and that never changes what Chat suggests.
Can the AI still be wrong?
Yes. Hours and travel times are checked against Google Maps but can change on the day. Web answers show their sources. Every answer can be reported with a long press.
What does it cost?
Free to plan every trip, with $1.50 of credit to try Chat, no card. After that, Chat, photo questions, web answers and imports use credit you add in the app, $5, $10 or $20 at a time, charged by what each answer costs. It never expires. Details are on the pricing page.
