The Uffizi. The full ticket is €25 at the door and €29 online; the €4 is the booking fee for a timed entry that skips the line. Use the official site, tickets.uffizi.it, and no reseller. The old high and low season split has gone: one price all year. EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay €2 and under-18s go free. Hours are 8:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday. In summer the gallery usually adds a late weekday evening; check the calendar.

The Accademia. David’s gallery is €20 at the door, €24 with the booking fee online, and online is the only practical route from Easter to September.

The Duomo. The cathedral itself is free. The dome, bell tower, Baptistery, crypt and museum sell as three passes valid three days: Brunelleschi (around €35, the only one with the dome), Giotto (€20, bell tower but no dome) and Ghiberti (€15). Only the dome climb needs a fixed time slot, and it sells out weeks ahead in spring.

First Sundays and Mondays. The state museums are free on the first Sunday of the month. The line starts before 8 a.m.; if that Sunday falls in your stay, give it to the Duomo and pay. The Uffizi and Accademia close Monday; the Duomo complex opens daily.

Driving. Do not bring a rental car into the center. The ZTL covers everything inside the ring roads and cameras read every plate; it runs through the day on weekdays and Saturday, with a night zone on summer weekends. Each gate you cross is a separate fine of roughly €80 to €100 that reaches you at home months later, plus the rental company’s handling fee. If your hotel is inside, send the plate before you arrive and they register it. Otherwise park at the Villa Costanza tram stop.

City tax and coperto. The city tax is per person per night, paid at the hotel: €3.50 for one star rising to €8 for five, €6 in a short-term rental, charged for the first seven nights; under-12s exempt. At restaurants the coperto (€2 to €4 a head) covers bread and the seat, and tipping beyond rounding up is not expected. Central shops mostly trade through lunch now; smaller ones still close from about 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The Firenze Card. Around €85 for 72 hours and most museums, but you still reserve slots at the Uffizi and Accademia, and it only pays past four or five paid museums. With a Duomo pass already bought it rarely pays.

On the day. Save the Uffizi and Accademia QR codes in Waystop’s Documents. A gallery placed on a Monday will be flagged by the hours check, since both are closed.
